Electronics Expo 2016 to showcase India as IT solution provider

The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) is organizing the 2nd edition of the India Electronics Expo. The expo which is scheduled on the 17th and 18th of March this year aims at promoting the electronics manufacturing, mechanical intelligent systems, EMS and components companies in India. Basically a buyer-seller meet, ESC will see participants from Latin America, Africa, CIS, ASEAN and several other countries.

The IT sector is undergoing drastic change and it is important that Indian companies too adapt to these changes in order to stay in the competition. Today there is hardly any area of work which is untouched by the IT sector. Right from businesses, education, governance and legal sphere all are dependent on information technology for their everyday activities. Thus this expo is the right platform for companies involved in mobile hardware integration, electronics manufacturing solutions as well as software product testing companies to showcase their services to the world. Also for SMEs and the start-up companies the ESC expo can serve as the apt medium to improve their visibility in the global IT market. Along with all these advantages, the expo is the right step towards promoting India as the leading IT solution provider in the world and giving a boost to government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Through this expo delegates from developed countries, as well as representatives from large companies get an opportunity to assess the advantages of entering into long term agreements with the IT & related management and solution companies. Most delegates and representatives are looking for engagement in the area of legal outsourcing, e-governance, cloud computing, IOT, web & mobile, KPO, BPO, big data management, banking, insurance, embedded software and many other innovative solutions.

The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) is the largest electronics and computer software trade promotion association in India. It has a membership base of more than 2000 from companies throughout the country and ICT exports is its area of main focus. Along with this, the council also focuses on creating an enabling environment for the IT & electronics industry, especially for SMEs. Right from re-branding the industry to showcase their innovations as well as expertise, the council also takes all the steps needed to align the Central and State level governments to build a healthy export friendly atmosphere in the country.

What gives credibility to this expo is the success of its first edition which was conducted in 2015. During that event 31 select Indian electronics companies showcased their products and capabilities in the area of electronic components, electronic manufacturing services, consumer electronics, telecom and instruments to 125 foreign delegates from 26 countries. Through this expo, the Indian electronics hardware design sector was introduced to the global electronics buyers.

India today is a clear leader in providing information technology enabled services (ITeS) as well as in software development. Around 90% of India’s software and ITeS exports are with Europe and the US, with US accounting for around 60% of the share. The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) aims at taking these services to other countries around the globe, so that the customer base of Indian companies widens enormously as India emerges as a global hub for IT and related solutions.

ESC will also be conducting the premier IT event, namely the India IT show this year. This show is supported by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry and has innovation and value addition to software solutions being its main focus area. Around 150 Indian IT firms will be displaying their cutting edge solutions and products on this platform.

The year 2016 surely has a lot of action in store for Indian IT companies. Converting these opportunities into viable actions and solutions will surely benefit SMEs and start-ups.
