Automated Driving Functions

With Automated Driving functions, our expert team support clients on the path of more efficient automated driving with modern functions and roles. Traffic Jam Assist

The Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) supports the driver in traffic jam situations. By activating the Traffic Jam Assist, the vehicle takes control of steering-, acceleration- and brake processes. Starting-up, braking and the maintenance of a safe distance happens automatically. Thus, in the meantime, the driver can take his hands off the steering wheel.

Adaptive Cruise Control

The use of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) enables the driver to drive in a relaxed way without having to focus on maintaining speed which can be tiring. The intelligent cruise control does not only maintain speed but also keeps the required minimum distance to the preceding vehicle.

Cruising Chauffeur

The Cruising Chaffeur assumes the complete steering of the vehicle after its activation. The assistant adjusts automatically to traffic conditions, it controls speed and keeps the vehicle in lane. During this time, the driver can relax and retrieve cloud-based systems, such as travel details, or use entertainment services. When the vehicle exits the motorway, the system announces it in a timely manner. Hence, the driver resumes control.

Emergency Brake Assist

Due to the continuous monitoring of the area in front of the vehicle, Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) is able to recognize critical traffic situations in time. In case of an inappropriate reaction by the driver in this situation, the system initiates an autonomous braking. The Emergency Brake Assist can clearly reduce the braking distance and limit the severity level of accidents when a collision cannot be avoided.

Parking Companion

The Parking Companion autonomously steers the vehicle into a parking space. After its activation, the parking space is scanned while passing by. Thus, sufficiently large parking spaces are offered to the driver. If the driver accepts the suggestion, the system parks the vehicle autonomously while steering, controlled accelerating and braking.

Driver Assistance Functions

Blind Spot Detection

The Blind Spot Detection (BSD)-System for monitoring the Blind Spot can contribute to the relief of the driver and prevent accidents. Sensors monitor the traffic area behind as well as next to the vehicle and warn the driver if another vehicle is located in the Blind Spot of the exterior mirror.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

The Rear Cross Traffic Alert Assistent refers to the same system as the Blind Spot Detection Function. In this case, both Short Range Radars (SRR), which are installed in the rear of the vehicle, are used for assisting the driver when maneuvering. When an approaching object is detected, the driver is informed for preventing a collision.

Intelligent Headlamp Control (IHC)

The Intelligent Headlamp Control (IHC) improves visual conditions in the darkness while independently adjusting the headlamp setting to the situation. The system detects oncoming and preceding vehicles and adjusts the headlamps in a way that ideal lighting conditions are guaranteed in every driving situation.

Surround View (SV)

The Surround View System provides a completely scalable 3D-surround view of the vehicle. The view assists the driver in unclear situations, such as in parking, maneuvering or in driving with a trailer.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

The system Lane Departure Warning (LDW) surveilles the maintenance of the vehicle in its lane. When the vehicle is about to leave the lane, the system warns the driver with acoustic or haptic warnings already before leaving the lane unintentionally.

Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)

The function Traffic Sign Recognition reminds the driver of the permitted speed, no overtaking or restricted access zones. This reminder is represented to the driver with the help of a display on the dashboard. This is possible owing to the multiple use of the camera, also applied for the Lane Departure Warning System.

Indirect Tire Pressure Monitoring System (DDS+)

Our indirect tire pressure monitoring system, DDS+, is a cost-optimized software solution that uses existing hardware components as the wheel speed sensors as input signals. It is able to detect from one up to four tire pressure losses. When a pressure loss is detected, the system alerts the driver by an acoustic signal and a warning light. The system has the capability to comply with NHTSA FMVSS No.138, ECE R64 and GB-26149-xxxx, demonstrated on specific vehicle applications.
